Marco Spoldi is an Italian artisan watchmaker specialising in the repair, service and conservative restoration of luxury mechanical watches. With over 8,000 watches serviced across a career spanning more than three decades, he knows the calibres of the great brands by heart: Rolex, Omega, Patek Philippe, Jaeger-LeCoultre, Audemars Piguet, IWC and many more.
Philosophy: We Don’t Repair Watches. We Restore Time.
In Marco’s workshop, every watch is treated as a guest. There is a precise ritual:
- Welcome: photographic documentation of the initial state, the owner’s story gathered
- Diagnosis: listening with Witschi timing machine, binocular microscope inspection, 6-position functional test
- Dialogue: Marco personally explains what he found, what is needed and what he recommends. No cold jargon — conversation
- Intervention: every phase documented with photographs. The owner can follow their watch’s “diary”
- The Awakening: the moment the mechanism starts beating again after the service
- Return: with intervention certificate, complete photographic report and warranty

The workshop is equipped with professional, latest-generation instrumentation:
- Witschi timing machine for 6-position precision testing
- Binocular microscope with up to 40x magnification
- Multi-bath ultrasonic cleaner for delicate components
- Compressed air water resistance tester
- Micron-calibrated measuring instruments
- Anti-static, dust-free reassembly area

A Story of Passion for Watchmaking
Strumenti del Tempo was born as a workshop and reference point for watchmaking enthusiasts in Lombardy. From the very beginning, the activity was not limited to repairs: Marco Spoldi has always cultivated an encyclopaedic knowledge of brands, from trading vintage pieces on behalf of antique dealers to valuing private collections.
Over the years, the workshop has handled watches of every calibre and complexity — from white gold Rolex Daytona to vintage Patek Philippe, from Jaeger-LeCoultre complications to Zenith El Primero chronographs, from limited edition TAG Heuer McLaren to rare Gerald Charles by Gérald Genta.
The Own-Brand Line
Marco’s passion for mechanics also led to the creation of a line of watches under the “Strumenti del Tempo” brand — limited editions expressing the workshop’s philosophy: authentic mechanics, essential design, accessibility.
